Religion and gender discrimination will be abolished, France is bringing a new law

- Likely to shock Muslim countries

France is enacting a law that was likely to shock Muslim countries at a time when tough measures are being taken to curb Islamic terrorism.

Earlier, France had officially announced that it would intensify the fight against terrorism. Now a proposal is to be tabled in Parliament that would give the government the power to prevent discrimination based on religion and gender. The law was likely to be harsh on Muslim countries.

The proposal was announced by Gerald Dermani, Minister of the Interior of France. He said that if a man refuses to seek treatment from a female doctor, he will be sentenced to five years in jail and a heavy fine. Similarly, if a woman refuses to seek treatment from a male doctor, this law will also apply to her.

He further said that those who put pressure on government officials or oppose the lessons taught by teachers would be dealt with severely under the law. Gerald had earlier announced a ban on Turkey's Gray Wolves. The ban is due to be introduced in the French parliament today. If the ban proposal is passed in Parliament, government action will be taken against all the activities of the Gray Wolves.

A number of Muslims protested on social media against Gerald's announcement, saying women had the right to refuse treatment by a male doctor.
