New Delhi Dated 28th November 2020 Saturday

Taxi companies like Ola, Uber can no longer increase fares at a reasonable rate, nor can a passenger cancel a ride once he has decided on a ride.

The Centre's road transport department had announced specific rules for such taxi services. The essence of these rules is that these taxi services will not be able to charge more than one and a half times the fare fixed by the state governments.

During non-peak hours, Ola can offer fifty percent discount on Uber base fares. In states where city tax fair has not been decided, Rs 25 to 30 will be treated as base fare. If Kai cancels the ride after the taxi driver or customer decides, there will be a penalty of ten per cent of the fixed fare. But this penalty cannot be more than Rs.

Ola, if there is any disturbance in the service provided to the customer by Uber, the driver will work differently than decided or if the driver collects more money from the customer than decided then his driving license will be suspended. If the license is suspended three times in this way, its taxi service will be canceled, said the Centre's Road Transport Department.
