New manufacturing industry will no longer be allowed in Delhi: Kejriwal

Chief Minister Kejriwal had hinted at taking drastic measures to curb Delhi's pollution. Kejriwal announced that the new manufacturing industry would no longer be allowed. New industrial units will not be started in Delhi. Only service and high-tech industries will be allowed.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that tough decisions are needed to curb pollution. Kejriwal said the Delhi government's proposal not to open new industrial units in Delhi has been approved by the Center. Polluting industry units will no longer be allowed to be built in industrial areas.
Hi-tech industries and service sector will be allowed in Delhi, but product units will not be allowed by the government. He did not elaborate on whether the industrial activity would be allowed in the future.
On the other hand, strong winds were blowing in Delhi. It lifted the clouds of pollution. Air quality improved marginally. However, still air pollution was reported at alarming levels. The air in many parts of Delhi was in the poor category, though there was some improvement.
The first cold start of the season was in the capital. The temperature dropped to 10.4 degrees Celsius, cooling the atmosphere. The meteorological department had forecast 15 to 18 degrees Celsius in the first week of November. In the next 10 days, the temperature in Delhi will go down further.
