Munger: Murder case registered against police personnel who fired on devotees during dispersal procession

A case of murder has finally been registered against the police personnel who opened fire on a procession to dismantle the idol of Goddess Durga in Munger, Bihar.

The case is based on a statement from the father of Anurag Poddar, a young man who was killed in the firing.

It may be mentioned that during the dispersal procession, the Munger police opened fire on the devotees just like the British, in which Anurag was killed. The collector and the Munger police chief were ordered to be removed from the district.

Meanwhile, the police said that the people involved in the arson incident at the police station have been identified. They have appealed to the people to maintain peace.
