Which will be a non-bailable offense and carries a provision of five years imprisonment. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had said it would enact a law against love jihad.

Mishra said that Madhya Pradesh is preparing to introduce the Freedom of Religion Bill 2020 in the Assembly. There is a provision of five years rigorous imprisonment.

In addition, there is a provision to punish those who help in the crime of love jihad as the main charge. In addition, provision will be made to punish converts for forced marriages.

If one voluntarily converts and wants to get married, one has to take it to the collector's office one month in advance and apply. Once this law is passed, forcible marriages will be annulled.
