His visit to Nepal is being hailed as very important to mend the strained relations between India and Nepal. During the visit, Nepal has also conferred on him the honorary rank of General of its Army.

Meanwhile, General Narvane's wife met the wives of some Gurkha soldiers serving in the Indian Army living in Kathmandu. The man is stationed at General Narvane's office in Delhi. Veena Narvane, wife of the Army Chief, is also the president of the Army Wives Welfare Association.

The wife of the Gurkha jawan lives in Kathmandu. The wife of the Army Chief handed over a gift sent to her by the jawans. The border of Nepal has been closed due to the Korona virus.

It is to be mentioned that the Gurkhas of Nepal have been serving in the Indian Army for years. The Gurkha soldiers are considered as fierce fighters. Amidst the strained relations between India and Nepal, the Government of Nepal recently objected to the Gurkha soldiers serving in the Indian Army.
