Amit Shah in Hyderabad, worshiping at Bhagya Lakshmi Temple before the road show

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded some of its veteran leaders in the Hyderabad local body elections. Several party leaders, including BJP national president JP Nadda and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, have traveled to Hyderabad. Now Amit Shah has reached Hyderabad. They will do a road show in Secunderabad. Earlier he went to Bhagyalakshmi temple and worshiped.

Amit Shah will also address the media in Hyderabad today. At the BJP's state office at Nampally in Hyderabad at 3 o'clock, he met Dr. Shyamprasad Mukherjee will hold a press conference at Bhavan.

Why Hyderabad is important

Hyderabad local elections have become the center of national politics. This is being watched all over the country. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election is also being considered as the litmus test of the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. The BJP is seeing this election as an opportunity to perpetuate its presence in Hyderabad and increase its political base in Telangana.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is one of the largest municipal corporations in the country. The Municipal Corporation covers four districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malakjagiri and Sangareddy. The entire constituency covers 24 assembly constituencies and Telangana has 5 Lok Sabha seats.
