Two militant attacks in Pakistan have killed at least 21 people, including several Pakistani soldiers. One attack took place in Pakistan-occupied Balochistan, with militants targeting employees and security personnel of a Pakistani oil and gas development company and attacking a convoy. The second attack took place in Waziristan. A total of 21 people have been killed in the two attacks together.

The attack was claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Front, while another militant group later claimed responsibility. The Balochistan Liberation Front was formed in 1970, with the Pakistani military as its main target. For the most part, the organization has been vocal against the administration and includes people named Miri and Bugti.

Of the two major attacks in Pakistan so far, 14 have been killed. Army personnel while other oil company employees and security personnel are involved. The incident was followed by heavy clashes between militants and security forces in Gwadar and hours of gunfire.

The entire staff of the oil and gas company has been shifted from Gwadar to Karachi. And troops have been deployed throughout the area. However, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed that some militants were also killed in the confrontation.

The Balochistan Liberation Front was formed in 1970 to fight with weapons against the then ruler Zia-ul-Haq and Pakistan's dictatorial army. The group was assassinated in 2000 by Justice Nawab Miri of the Balochistan High Court. The group later stepped up attacks on the Pakistani army and police in 2006. Following which, the government of Pakistan declared this extremist organization a terrorist organization. Hirbayar Miri was reportedly the commander of the organization. Named the Balochistan Liberation Army, the group has always opposed the Pakistan-China corridor. In 2018, the Karachi-based Chinese office was attacked.
