The cost of setting up a 5G network in India will be Rs 2.5 lakh crore

The cost of setting up a 2G network in India will range from Rs 1.5 lakh crore to Rs 2.5 lakh crore. The report comes at a time when 2G technology is booming in India. Motilal Oswal Financial Services claimed this estimated cost.
Before the advent of 4G network in India, there have been announcements of smartphones that support 4G technology. Meanwhile, a report by Motilal Oswal Financial Services claimed that 4G network in India would be very expensive. The 2G network to be set up in India will cost an estimated Rs 2.5 lakh crore.
According to the report, Rs 500 crore will be spent in the capital Delhi alone. Not only that, the setup of 2G network in Mumbai, the economic capital, will cost Rs 10,000 crore. The telecom report claimed that India is likely to spend a minimum of Rs 1.5 lakh crore and a maximum of Rs 2.5 lakh crore for the entire 2G network.
About 5,000 sites will have to be built and Rs 1,200 crore will be spent on them. There are three types of investments to be made for 3G network. Spectrum, sites and fiber - these three ways to invest will add up to the total cost.
