New Delhi on Tuesday 13 October 2020

The air in the capital New Delhi was getting more and more polluted day by day. At ten o'clock on Monday morning, the air quality index was 240, which is considered dangerous for humans and ecosystems. The air quality index was 332 on Tuesday morning, which means the pollution has increased in 24 hours.

Last week, the meteorological department had forecast that the air in the capital, New Delhi, was likely to be polluted due to the increase in rampant straw burning in neighboring states, including Punjab.

Delhi's air quality deteriorated for the first time since June 29, on October 7, and the Central Pollution Control Board had then warned that air pollution in Delhi would rise sharply in view of the way straw burning was taking place in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the PM-10 level in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday morning was 332 micrograms per cubic meter, the highest this season. In India, PM-10 levels are generally considered safe up to 100 micrograms. It was now over 300 which was very dangerous for health.
