Corona's fury in the country is slowly receding. Corona's daily new cases have dropped significantly in the last fortnight. Corona's new cases averaged less than 50,000 during this time. More than 11 lakh corona tests have been done daily in the country in the last six weeks, the health ministry said.

The court, on the other hand, has sought a reply from the Center following a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court over the use of Ramdasivir and Favipiravir for the treatment of corona without any approval. In the last 24 hours, 49,077 cases of corona have been reported in the country and a further 566 deaths have been reported while 59,087 patients have recovered.

This brings the total number of corona cases to 80,85,161 and the death toll to 1,21,022. However, a total of 73,69,271 patients from Corona have recovered, according to PTI's state-wise tele. India ranks top in the world in terms of recovered corona patients while active cases of corona have declined significantly.

With an emphasis on tests for the treatment of corona, the average daily corona in India has been tested more than 11 lakh times in the last six weeks and the total number of tests has crossed 10.65 crore. The country can now carry 1.5 million corona tests daily, the health ministry said. The positivity rate has dropped significantly in the last three weeks during the Corona test, the ministry added.

Regarding corona production in the country, the ministry said 79 per cent of new corona cases were being reported in 10 states. The number of new cases is very high in Kerala. Currently, more than 8,000 new cases are being reported daily in Kerala, while 6,000 cases of corona are being reported daily in Maharashtra, the state most affected by corona, the health ministry said.

Meanwhile, two drugs being used to treat corona in the country, remedivir and favipiravir, have not received any approval, according to a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court. On this issue, Chief Justice S. a. A bench headed by Bobde has sent a notice to the Center seeking its reply within four weeks.
