Saudi exposes misrepresentation of map: India

The new 20 riyal note issued by Saudi Arabia misrepresents the map of India. The map shows Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh as a separate country. India had raised the issue with Saudi Arabia and sought an explanation.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the "false map" had been presented to both the Delhi-based Saudi ambassador and the Saudi government in Riyadh.

A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh is and will remain a part of India. That has been misrepresented on the map of Saudi Arabia. So Saudi Arabia needs to correct this mistake as soon as possible. There has been no response from the Saudi government since then.

Saudi Arabia has issued a new 20 riyal note for the G20 summit. In that note, the province including Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh is separated from India.
