Delta hurricane in three US states: Darkness in seven lakh homes, heavy rains forecast

Lake Charles, Ta. Sunday, October 11, 2020

Hurricane Laura and then Delta in the United States struck seven million homes in three states, causing lightning and rainwater to make people cry. One hurricane after another in just six weeks caused the whole of southeastern Louisiana to be covered with tarpaulins and piles of debris on the roads.

Citizens had to stay up all night to get water out of their homes. "Without God's help, we would not have survived," said Hannan Franklin, of Iowa, a city of 3,000.

Seven million homes in the US Gulf states of Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi were blacklisted, according to a website that collects hurricane data. 586,600 homes in Louisiana, 103,598 in Texas and 67,873 homes in Mississippi were without electricity.

The highest number of 36,000 customers in the Louisiana capital, Baltin Roe, complained to the Department of Power. People were also afraid to return to the houses destroyed due to category four. A landfall in the area in August killed 40 people.

It was the tenth hurricane to be named Delta in one hurricane season. Some locals complained that the administration did not listen to us and did not get help. Only neighbors were helping neighbors, a woman told Hannah.

The delta caused rain to fall on the shores of the town of Crayon. The wind was blowing at a speed of one hundred miles per hour. The hurricane swept across Lake Charles, but no deaths or injuries were reported. Seven people were killed in Laura, which was struck earlier. The company employed about 10,000 workers to start the power supply.
