Sao Paulo / Brazil, Ta. 21 September 2020, Monday

In the city of Sઓo Paulo, Brazil, vegetables and fruits are being produced on a unique pink light vertical farm with the help of modern technology. Along with special types of lighting, the temperature is also maintained to a certain degree and the plants are also provided with the necessary water and nutrients.

The Pink Vertical Farm, set up in a large hall, produces vegetables and fruits using a special soilless method. The irrigation system in this farm automatically recycles its water. In addition, red and blue lights are placed on top of the rows of plants, which, when coordinated, appear pink.

The farm produces 100 times more than the land in the same area and uses 95% less water than normal farming.

Following the Corona epidemic they are now focusing on the production of microgreens. However, Gerardo Maya, the engineer who launched the project, believes that this type of vertical farming can never replace traditional farming.

However this experiment can be successful where there is little or no space for farms.
