Video: Millions of young people take to the streets in Thailand to overthrow the monarchy

Bangkok, Ta. 21 September 2020, Monday

Hundreds of thousands of young people in Thailand have taken to the streets to overthrow the monarchy and demand massive changes in the political system, along with the demand for democracy. The movement for the establishment of democracy, started by students in July, has gained momentum and now a large number of citizens are openly joining it.

Opponents of the monarchy set up a plaque reading "Belong to the People" near the majestic palace of Thai King Maha Wajiralongkorn in Bangkok. His opponents are being given long sentences by the King of Thailand, against which there is great resentment among the youth.

In addition, Prime Minister Prayuth Chanocha, who took office in 2014, won the re-election last year, and protesters have demanded his resignation.

Protesters determined to bring a new dawn to Thai politics turned on their mobile torches in symbolic protest against the authorities.
