UP: Police conducted the funeral of the victim in the absence of family members at midnight in Hathras

The body of a 19-year-old gangrape victim in Hathras reached her village late at night. The funeral was held at about half past midnight amid heavy police force deployment without informing the family amid protests. Meanwhile, a large number of policemen were deployed around the cremation ground and the victim was cremated.

Not only that, the police were also banning camera recordings in the meantime. The villagers on this side are also stunned by the funeral which was conducted in this manner secretly in the middle of the night. The victim's relatives were adamant not to bury him until justice was done.

The family members allege that the funeral was held without their permission. Earlier on Tuesday night, the victim's body was autopsied at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. Where the victim's father and cousin sat on a picket outside the hospital. In the evening, Bhim Army and Congress workers also reached there.
