Tribal agitation ended in Rajasthan, blocked roads of Gujarat were opened

The tribal movement on the Rajasthan Highway turned violent. Several vehicles were set on fire. The movement was also supported by tribal organizations from Gujarat. As a precautionary measure, the Shamlaji Highway was closed by the Gujarat government to prevent the agitation from spreading to Gujarat as well.

The highway was closed by barricading the highway and there were lines of vehicles on the entire highway. The Rajasthan government will go to the Supreme Court on the issue of teacher recruitment agitation. It was announced that the dharna had ended near Kankaridungar near Dungarpur. Following which the road to Gujarat was opened.

The dharna ended near Kangri Dungri near Dungarpur. A joint meeting was held in Kherwada in which all the parties agreed to go to court. A conditional settlement was reached on the instructions of CM Gehlot. The meeting was also attended by social, political leaders and high officials.

AHMEDABAD: The Udaipur Highway has been rehabilitated and traffic is slowly declining. Gujarat Police and Rajasthan Police are jointly clearing the traffic.

It may be mentioned here that the traffic on Shamlaji Highway was diverted to Ambaji Highway. Police have also started moving vehicles that have been set on fire on the road.
