The Taj Mahal, closed for the last 188 days under lockdown, is open to tourists from today

The world famous Mughal architecture Taj Mahal was reopened to foreign tourists from today. The Taj Mahal has been under lockdown for the last 188 days following Corona. It was reopened today. Simultaneously, the fort of Agra was also opened today.

According to Agra District Magistrate PN Singh, initially only 5,000 tourists a day will be allowed to visit the Taj Mahal. The figure was kept at 2500 for the fort of Agra. Tickets for both these destinations will have to be purchased online. Visitors to both sites will have to adhere strictly to the guidelines issued for the corona virus.

The entry fee was fixed at Rs 1100 for foreign tourists and Rs 50 for domestic tourists. After purchasing a ticket online, the traveler will be able to go inside by scanning the QR code. Everyone will have to go through thermal screening. Masks will be mandatory and survey payments, including parking, will have to be made digitally. Only five people can go to the tomb of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal at the same time.
