Terrorist shot dead, jawan injured in overnight clashes in Kashmir

Srinagar, Ta. Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Heavy clashes broke out between the army and militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on Tuesday. One terrorist was shot dead and another was seriously injured during the operation and is being treated.

The area was engulfed in clashes with militants overnight, although gunfire resumed in the morning, eventually killing Atari. However there are reports that other terrorists have fled. Pakistan, on the other hand, is using drones to smuggle weapons, which are later being used by terrorists.

One such consignment of weapons sent from a Pakistani drone was seized near the Jammu border. Two AK rifles, three magazines and 90 rounds of ammunition as well as a pistol were seized. The operation was carried out jointly by the police and the army.

The NIA is currently cracking down on separatists and terrorists in Kashmir. As part of which, the agency raided two separate cases of arrested suspended DSP Devender.

Some digital materials and documents were seized during the raid. The NIA had in July filed a chargesheet against Devender and other terrorists arrested along with him.

Investigations have revealed that Devendra was not in touch with Pakistan's spy agency ISI and was also tasked with forging links with the External Affairs Ministry. Devender has been arrested and further proceedings are underway. Devendra took the job with money from Pakistan.
