Tensions between BJP and JDU in Bihar, 50-50 per cent seats likely to be shared

Patna, 27 September 2020, Sunday

Tensions are running high between the BJP and the JDU for the Bihar Assembly elections. There is speculation that both the parties may contest 50-50 per cent of the seats.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, both the parties contested 17-17 seats. The same formula is likely to be applied for the Assembly elections. This announcement has slightly increased the tension between BJP and JDU.

The JDU says there is no problem with the distribution of seats, an official announcement will be made in due course. The NDA will do even better in the Assembly elections than in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the same way that Nitish Kumar shared the Lok Sabha seats equally, this time he shows readiness to contest the Assembly seats equally.

It may be mentioned that so far it has been the case that in the Assembly elections, the BJP-JDU alliance has won more seats in the JDU alliance.
