'Shake Modi, now it's Delhi's turn', roars Akali Dal's Sukhbir Singh Badal

A one-time friend today speaks the language of the enemy

New delhi date. Saturday 26 September 2020

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal shouted that we have shaken Prime Minister Narendra Modi by launching an agitation against the agriculture bill. Now the throne of Delhi is about to be shaken. Farmers across the country have been protesting since Thursday evening in protest of three agriculture bills recently passed by the central government in both the houses of parliament.

At one time the Akali Dal was a component of the NDA. But the agriculture bill wedged the friendship of the Akali Dal. On Friday, Badal himself along with members of the Akali Dal had a three-hour traffic jam on the Malaut-Delhi National Highway. He was accompanied on the occasion by his wife and MP Harsimrat Kaur, who resigned from the central government. The Badal couple drove a tractor for eight kilometers to protest at the protest site.

However, the interesting thing was that the 31 farmers' unions who were protesting said in clear words that we do not need the support of any political party or leader. But Congress, RJD, Akali Dal, Trinamool Congress, Left, etc. walked in front and expressed support to the farmers. At the heart of all this was the forthcoming assembly elections, the people had to win the election battle to fight for the interests of the farmers.

Speaking at the site of the picket, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that there were some riots in between. Come, let us fight with them and unite all the farmers under one umbrella. This organization will shake the throne of Delhi.

"We are ready to fight for the farmers of Punjab," he claimed. We do not bring ego in between. We are with the farmers. It was only when the government passed the first bill on the strength of numbers that I first told them that this would not work. I was told that the matter would be settled in ten days. But that did not happen. Farmers constantly feel that we are being deprived of our rights, we are being treated unfairly. The government needed to talk to farmers. Now his ministers are making various revelations on a daily basis.
