The fund had accumulated Rs 3,076 crore in the first five days. "PM Modi has been donating to public welfare for a long time," a senior official said.
However, PM Modi's donation of Rs 2.25 lakh started trending on Twitter today.
When PM Modi visited the Kumbh Mela last year, he donated Rs 21 lakh for the cleaners. He also donated Rs 1.3 crore along with the Seoul Peace Prize from South Korea for the Namami Ganges project.
