PM Modi is enslaving farmers to capitalists: Rahul Gandhi

New delhi date. Sunday 20 September 2020

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has targeted the Modi government over the agriculture bill. Rahul said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was enslaving farmers to capitalists. Which the country will never allow to succeed.

He asked how the Modi government's anti-agriculture law would enable farmers to get the minimum support value when the APMC farmer market is over. Why MSP is not guaranteed in this bill. Two bills were introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Sunday. The bill has already been passed by the Lok Sabha. Several parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, the BSP and the Akali Dal, are opposing the bill.

The BJP-led NDA has run out of food over the bill. Harsimrat Kaur, the BJP's oldest ally in the Akali Dal and a Union Minister in the Modi cabinet, has resigned in protest of the bill. TRS president and Telangana CM KC Rao has asked his party MPs to oppose and vote against the bill.

The government is calling the bill revolutionary

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar introduced the Farmers Trade and Commerce Bill 2020 and Agreement on Agricultural Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Bill 2020 in the Rajya Sabha today. He said the bill was going to revolutionize the lives of farmers.

Kejriwal-Brian also in protest

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party president Arvind Kejriwal has also opposed the agriculture bill and called for a non-BJP vote in the Rajya Sabha. Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that today the eyes of farmers across the country are on the Rajya Sabha. The BJP is in the minority in the Rajya Sabha. I appeal to all non-BJP parties to defeat these three bills together, the farmers of this country want.

Former UP chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati also spoke out against the agriculture bill. Mayawati said the two bills involving farmers in the Lok Sabha have been passed without removing all their doubts. The BSP does not agree with him. What a farmer across the country wants. It would be appropriate if the central government pays attention to this.

Double

Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien opposed the agriculture bill in the Rajya Sabha. He said the NDA government promises to double the income of farmers by 2022 but let me state that the income of farmers cannot be doubled by 2028. This government only promises. Where are the two crore jobs?

Congress MP Pratap Singh Bajwa said that the Congress party opposes the bill. Farmers in Punjab and Haryana believe the bill is an attack on their souls. Consent to this bill is like signing a death warrant for farmers. The farmer is against the change in APMC and MSP.
