Parliamentary session from today amid Chinese infiltration, atmosphere of fear in the country


Only if the Corona test is negative will MPs, media persons be allowed to enter Parliament

The monsoon session in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha is set to begin on Monday. Opposition will surround the Center on issues like the government's failure against the Koro epidemic, the government's anti-farmer policy and the police baton charge on farmers in Haryana as well as GDP and unemployment, Chinese infiltration.

However, in the early days, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi could not be present in Parliament as Sonia had gone abroad for treatment and Rahul was with them. In this monsoon session, the question period has been removed from both the houses in view of the Koro epidemic which is usually for questioning by the opposition to the governments.

However, due to the Corona epidemic, every MP will have to undergo a Corona test, after which he will be admitted to Parliament. Many MPs and staff have been coronated. In such a situation, the sitting of Parliament has been done in a manner that has taken care of social distance as well as sanitization.

This time the timing has also changed. The proceedings of the first day of the Rajya Sabha will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Lok Sabha will begin at 3 pm and last for seven hours. The chambers of both the houses will be used by the MPs for sitting.

The corona will be tested 72 hours in advance and screening will be done at the entrance. Frequently both seating arrangements will be sanitized. The session, which starts on May 14, will run till October 1. Media personnel who come for coverage of this session will also have to undergo Corona test 72 hours in advance.

The Opposition, meanwhile, has demanded a debate in the Lok Sabha on the border dispute with China, poor economic conditions and a GDP growth of minus 23 per cent. "We have conveyed the demand to the chairman to discuss these issues," the DMK leader said. So Speaker Om Birla assured that efforts would be made to make the House run smoothly and the Opposition would also be given ample opportunity.

On the other hand, Congress leader in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said that GDP has reached minus, China's grandeur on the border has increased and there is an atmosphere of fear in the country, MPs themselves are in fear. Given the opposition's demands, the Bhise government is likely to issue a statement in parliament on the China issue to clarify the situation.

The government made a list of 23 bills for the monsoon session of Parliament

11 of the 23 bills will replace the ordinance

The Center has prepared a list of 23 new bills for the monsoon session of Parliament starting from Monday. Out of which 11 bills will take the form of an ordinance. The session of Parliament will last for 18 days. A bill to reduce MPs' salaries by 30 per cent for one year from April 1, 2020 will also be introduced in Parliament. The MPs' 30 per cent cut will be used in the fight against Korona.

The session also includes a bill to protect health workers from violence against them. This act would be considered a non-bailable offense if violence was committed against the health workers assigned to deal with Covid-19.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of seven years and a fine of Rs five lakh. The bill would cover doctors, nurses and hope workers. The Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, which enacted an ordinance to allow farmers to sell their produce in their own way, will also be introduced.

The Multi State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2020 will also be discussed, according to the document. The Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and Their Rehabilitation (Amendment) Bill, 2020 will also be introduced.
