Mathura Krishna birthplace case in court after Ayodhya, demand to remove mosque

After Ayodhya, the case of Lord Krishna's temple in Mathura has now reached the court. Is.

A petition has been filed by the Supreme Court counsel on behalf of Lord Krishna Birajman's Ranjana Agninhotri, alleging that the settlement reached in 1968 over land was wrong. A total of six Krishna devotees are involved in the case.

The petition, filed in the name of Lord Krishna Birajman and Sthan Shrikrishna Janmabhoomi, said that there was a jail at the place where the present mosque is and Lord Krishna was born in it.

It may be mentioned that when the Shrikrushna Janmabhoomi Trust was formed in 1951, it was decided that the temple would be rebuilt and organized by the trust. An organization called Shrikrushna Janmasthan Seva Sangh was formed in 1958 and the organization has taken action to get possession of the land. In 1964, a civil case was filed for possession of the land. However, the organization itself had reached a settlement with the Muslim party in 1968 and as part of it, the Muslim party left the land for the temple and in return was given a space attached to the temple.

This compromise has now been challenged in court. However, the biggest obstacle to the case is the Place of Worship Act, 1991, which was built after the demolition of the Babri Masjid, which will remain in the possession of those who have occupied the shrine since independence.

Only last year, when the Supreme Court ruled on Ayodhya, did it close its doors to the country's disputed shrines, including Kashi Mathura, saying the court could not rectify "historic mistakes".
