Indian Army sets up radio station in Anantnag, trying to connect all sections of society: General Rawat

The Indian Army set up a radio station in Anantnag district in South Kashmir in an effort to connect people from all walks of life.

Rabta 90.8 was named 'Dil Se Dil Tak' by the Indian Army. The move was made in an effort to bring local youth into the national mainstream, a military spokesman said.

"This is a historic moment for Anantnag," Indian Army Commander One Sector RR Brigadier Vijay Mahadev told media. The radio station was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Army's High Ground Camp, 20 km from Anantnag city.

Brigadier Vijay Mahadev said that this radio station belongs to the people and is for the people. Programs will begin at 6 a.m. and the radio station will be active until 10 p.m.

The radio station will feature Hindi film songs, easy music, Punjabi songs and Sufi music. Local artists will also be given a chance here. Apart from social, educational and cultural activities, the radio will also present details of development works, said Brigadier Mahadev.
