Ladakh Dated 19th September 2020 Saturday

Amid ongoing tensions between India and China over the past few months, the Chinese Army People's Liberation Army (PLA) could not withstand the Finger Four weather and had to be rushed to hospital due to illness.

The Chinese troops were admitted to a hospital built thousands of feet above sea level near the figure area on the opposite shore of Pangong Lake, an Indian military spokesman said. An Indian military spokesman, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on condition of anonymity, said the Chinese troops had difficulty breathing in the thousands of feet above sea level. Chinese soldiers were forced to be taken to a temporary hospital built between Finger Four and Finger Six.

This has been happening for the last three days, the spokesperson said. There are eight extremely high rocks outside the Sirijap range near the Finger Area and Penang Lake. These rocks hinder the movement of the armies of both countries. Here both the countries had deployed one lakh of their respective armies. Here the Chinese and Indian troops are only a few hundred meters apart. Indian soldiers succumbed to the weather while Chinese soldiers suffered from shortness of breath and needed medical treatment.

Winter is now about to begin in Ladakh East. The bone-chilling cold is about to begin. In the cold, especially in areas thousands of feet high, oxygen levels are lower than in the foothills, making breathing difficult.

The coming days will be tough for the soldiers of both the countries. The area is 17,000 feet above sea level.
