Delhi: DRDO scientist caught in honey trap scam, three arrested

- His relatives demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh

Police have arrested three people, including two young women, in a scam involving a junior scientist from the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in a honey trap and demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from his family. Uttar Pradesh does not take the name of crime reduction.

The case is in the Noida area connected to Delhi. A junior DRDO scientist was caught in a honey trap and stopped at a hotel in Noida on Saturday evening in the name of massage. He then demanded Rs 10 lakh from his family and threatened to wash his hands if he informed the police.

The abduction of a DRDO scientist caused a stir in the police department. Soon the police were on duty. Six detachments led by the Noida police commissioner were formed and police raided the place where the scientist was kept late on Sunday night. Three people, including two young women, were arrested after getting the scientist in a skilled condition. Police were searching for others believed to be involved in the scam.

Police said in a statement that a man approached the scientist on Saturday evening and the scientist accompanied him to a massage parlor. He took her to a hotel. A few minutes later, three or four men arrived and took the hostage, alleging that the scientist was running a sex racket, posing as a policeman. He was kept in a hotel room and his family was called to say that your scientist's son was in our custody. If you want to live, immediately arrange for one lakh rupees. If you complain to the police, you will not see your son alive.

Police received the complaint from the DRDO headquarters. The police immediately went to work.
