The epidemic of corona is on the rise and so is the search for a vaccine. Even if a vaccine or a drug is invented, it can cost crores of rupees to reach the citizens of the most populous country like India.

Adar Poonawala, chairman of the Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII), said it would cost Rs 80,000 crore to deliver corona to the people in India. Does the government have that much money?

Poonawala tweeted an estimate, saying that even if the corona vaccine was discovered next year, it would cost Rs 80,000 crore to reach every citizen of India. Does the government have such a large amount in the next one year? This is because the Ministry of Health will spend so much on reaching out to the people and vaccinating the people.

Poonawala also said that not only Corona but also the cost of delivering the drug to the people would be a major challenge in the future. And the government must prepare now to meet this big challenge.

Notably, the Serum Institute is also one of the world's top vaccine manufacturers. Clinical trials of the corona vaccine in India are currently being conducted by the Serum Institute of India. The vaccine is known as Covishield and is manufactured by Oxford University and AstraZeneca Pharma.

Meanwhile, the total number of corona cases in the country has risen to 96,75,508 with a further 96,970 cases. On the other hand, with more 1979 deaths, the death toll has crossed 94,376. In the last 24 hours alone, more than 13 lakh tests have been conducted and the total number of tests has crossed seven crore. In 10 states alone, 75 per cent of the total new cases have been reported.

A total of 49 lakh people have been healed with 98313 more. And the recovery rate has reached 82.14 per cent. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the cinema hall will be opened in West Bengal from October 1. At the same time, musical, dance and magic shows will also be allowed from the first date, Mamata said.

On the other hand, as the number of corona patients increases in the country, the lack of oxygen in hospitals is becoming a big question. The government has fixed the price for the next six months to prevent a black market in its price after reports of a shortage of oxygen surfaced. For the next six months, the ex-factory price of LMO will be Rs 15.22 per cubic meter and the ex-factory price of medical oxygen will be Rs 25.71 per cubic meter. These prices will remain in effect for the next six months. The government has said that the daily demand for medical oxygen has increased from 750 metric tonnes to 2,800 metric tonnes due to the current Corona epidemic.
