Congress also promised to bring a bill similar to NDA, YSR Congress

The Agriculture Bill has been passed in the Rajya Sabha amid much fanfare.

YSR Congress MP V Vijaysai Reddy had just presented the Congress election manifesto on the Rajya Sabha floor and termed the Congress' protest as baseless.

Criticizing the Congress, Reddy said, "Congress is pretending in the interest of the farmers. A similar promise was made by the Congress in its election manifesto. Similar promises have been taken into account in the present bill."

He demanded that Reddy apologize for his words. On the other hand, the Congress accused the government of trying to end the minimum support price and benefit the corporate world. On the other hand, the BJP MPs said that the government wants to provide more options to the farmers through this bill so that they can get a good price for their produce.
