Babri demolition case: Judgment of 2 thousand pages today after waiting for almost 3 decades

The verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case will come today. All eyes are on the verdict today. The Lucknow SP court will hear the verdict. Several people, including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, are accused in the case.

The disputed structure was demolished on December 6, 1992 in Ayodhya. The CBI court in Lucknow will hear the case.

Veteran BJP leaders are accused in the case so all eyes are on the verdict.49 The CBI had filed a chargesheet against the accused. Of the 49 accused, 17 have died.

LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Kalyan Singh and Vinay Katiyar are also accused in the Babri case. Out of which 17 accused have died. Judgment will be heard on the statements of 32 accused in the case.

When did it happen

A total of 49 people were charged in the case. An FIR was lodged on December 6, 1992 for demolishing the disputed structure. 17 accused including Bala Saheb Thackeray, Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore have died. Judgment will come on the statement of 32 accused.

What happened on December 6, 1992?

On December 6, 1992, permission was sought from the Supreme Court for car service in Ayodhya. It was said that a handful of Saryu water would cover the Rambhakta platform. The then BJP government had said that Karsevak would only return after doing car service. But millions of Ram devotees demolished the disputed structure.

The then Kalyan Singh government resigned after the structure was demolished. The government had ordered an inquiry into the demolition of the disputed structure. First the CB-CID investigated, then the investigation was handed over to the CBI.
