All members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), one of the paramilitary forces of the central government, have been urged to disclose the user IDs of any social media account they set up and not to criticize government policies.
As many as 1.62 lakh people are on duty in the CISF. The letter said that there have been a number of cases in which social media platforms have been used to go to share sensitive information of the country and criticize the government.
According to the new guideline, users will have to provide information about the number of social media accounts. At the same time, it has been hinted that those who violate the rules will be severely punished.
The CISF patrols all the airports and government industries in the country, protecting government buildings.
