Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred Rs 17,000 crore to the bank accounts of 8.5 crore beneficiary farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. He said that the assistance was being extended to the farmers without the intervention of intermediaries. The central government launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme in 2018. Under which this assistance is being given.

Each beneficiary farmer is given Rs 6,000 per annum in three installments, under which Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the sixth installment. This sixth installment will benefit about 85 million farmers in the country.

The money will be deposited directly in the bank account linked to the Aadhaar card. Modi said the government had deposited Rs 75,000 crore in farmers' accounts in the last one and a half years, which would benefit these farmers, including the purchase of various equipment.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a fund of Rs 1 lakh crore under the Agri-Infra Fund. He also claimed that farmers would benefit more from this fund after harvesting crops. As at present there is no more problem in crop production in the country but crop production is coming later. And whatever legal hurdles there are for this will be removed. Modi released the fund through a video conference.
