The world's first corona vaccine will be registered in Russia on August 12

Moscow, Ta. 7 August 2020, Friday

The whole world is waiting for the corona vaccine. Now maybe this wait is over. Russia's Health Minister Mikhail Murashko has said that the Russian-made corona vaccine has been successful in trials. A comprehensive corona vaccination program will be launched in the country from next October. He said the cost of the vaccination program would be borne by the government. So Russia's Deputy Health Minister Oleg Gridnev said that Russia would register the world's first corona vaccine on August 12.

Gridnev said during an event in the Russian city of Ufa that a third phase trial of the corona vaccine is currently underway. This trial is very important. We have to make sure that this vaccine is safe. The vaccine will first be given to doctors and medical staff. He said the success of the vaccine can only be gauged if the country's citizens develop immunity against corona.

The vaccine was developed jointly by the Gamaleya Research Institute and the Russian Ministry of Defense. Russia has previously claimed that its Corona vaccine is 100 percent successful. The clinical trial of the vaccine began on June 18. There were 38 volunteers who were vaccinated. Russia has since issued a statement saying that people who have been vaccinated have developed an immune system against the corona.
