The infighting in the Congress is not over yet, Sibal said, not the position for me, the country is important

New delhi date. Tuesday 25 August 2020

The infighting in Congress is not over yet. The Congress working committee meeting on Monday was filled with letters written by 23 party leaders demanding a change in leadership. After Sonia Gandhi was re-elected as the party's interim president, the leaders who wrote the letter met to discuss the next course of action. On Tuesday, Sibal tweeted that speculation had begun. Suspended party leader Sanjay Zai has called this the beginning of the end.

"It's not about a position," Kapil Sibal said. This is about my country which is the most important. On the other hand, suspended party leader Sanjay Zai tweeted, "This is the beginning of the end." Earlier, Sibal had tweeted protesting Rahul Gandhi's alleged collusion with the BJP. However, he retracted the tweet after talking to Rahul.

Rahul had accused BJP of collusion

In a meeting of the Congress working committee, Rahul Gandhi accused the leaders who wrote the letter of colluding with the BJP. On which Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad retaliated.

Sibal said May had never made a statement to the BJP on any issue in the last 30 years. Yet we can be with the BJP. Rahul spoke to him after the senior leader's tweet after which he deleted the tweet. There, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that if Rahul Gandhi's statement of collusion with the BJP was proved, he would resign from his post.

Rahul could not sideline the protesters

At the beginning of the meeting, there was talk of sidelining Rahul Gandhi's opposition leaders. Under this strategy, Sonia offered to step down as interim chairperson. After which Rahul targeted the leaders who wrote the letter. Leaders like former PM Manmohan Singh and Antony said whatever they wanted in support of Sonia but in the end Sonia had to say that she had no malice in her mind towards the letter writer.

The big question, who will handle the party arch

An announcement was made to form a committee to avoid controversy. This will examine the questions raised on the functioning of the organization. It will be interesting to see how the leaders of some groups in the committee weigh in. However, a senior leader of the anti-Rahul party said the committee was not a compromise. The question is who will lead the party and what kind of working style the party will adopt in the future.

Priyanka may be ready to land

Opponents of Rahul believe that no party of the Gandhi family can handle it at this time. The situation will worsen if Rahul's choice falls into the hands of Venugopal or any other leader. In six months, a screenplay can be prepared to give the reins of the organization to Priyanka Gandhi. Two senior leaders may be given the responsibility of vice president to help the new president in the initial period.
