The government, leaving Mehbooba Mufti, came in support of Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, August 2, 2020, Sunday

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has once again taken up arms against the Modi government.

Rahul Gandhi, who has been constantly criticizing the government over the Corona virus and tensions with China, has now raised a new issue. Rahul Gandhi has now demanded the release of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Rahul tweeted that the country's democracy was hit hard when the Indian government illegally detained political leaders. Now is the time to release Mehbooba Mufti.

Before Rahul Gandhi, senior party leader P. Chidambaram also opposed the government's decision to extend Mufti's detention, saying he did not understand how the 61-year-old former CM could pose a threat to public safety. The government was attacking citizens' rights.

Chidambaram further said that if Mehbooba Mufti opposes the decision of the government to remove Article 370, it is a crime, why does he not have the right to speak?
