Taxpayers are nation builders, they need better facilities: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has termed the taxpayers as nation builders and the government will issue a letter of authority for them. The taxpayers' charter was announced in the budget. It is hoped that it will get constitutional status and it will ensure timely service to the citizens by the income tax department. Sitharaman said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called the taxpayers a nation builder and an honest taxpayer helps in building the country. He said that the taxpayers help the government in advancing social welfare schemes which are in fact important for the livelihood of the poor.
