Railways cancels Chinese tender for Vande Bharat trains

Indian Railways dealt another economic blow to China. An order from a Chinese company for Seni High Speed ​​Vande Bharat trains was canceled. Indian Railways will now issue new tenders under the new Public Procurement Policy. According to the order, the Chinese company was to provide 44 cm high-speed trains for the Vande Bharat project. The order was going to be worth crores of rupees. Under this scheme, the Government of India will now give priority to Make in India i.e. local companies.

The new tender process will begin next week. According to an official announcement, Indian Railways has canceled tenders submitted by a Chinese company for forty-four cm high-speed Vande Bharat trains. New tenders will now be issued under the new public procurement policy.

The tender will attract foreign companies that are currently keen to exit China. Foreign companies making electronic products will definitely be interested in this scheme. According to a report, at least two dozen foreign companies showed interest in the project. Such companies include the likes of Samsung and Apple. These companies are said to be keen to invest 150 150 crore (approximately Rs 11,000 crore) in India. Such a foreign company was likely to get an order by filling a tender for Semi High Speed ​​Vande Bharat trains. The decision was reportedly taken as a step towards reducing China's capital investment from India.
