Online auction of Mahatma Gandhi's spectacles in Britain, US collector buys for 25.5 million

The spectacles of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi were auctioned online on Friday in Bristol, Britain. Mahatma Gandhi's spectacles were auctioned off by the East Bristol Auction Agency. It is learned that these glasses were worn by Mahatma Gandhi and later gifted to a family. The auction house estimated the price of the glasses at 10-15 thousand pounds (9.77 - 14.66 lakh rupees). All expectations were shattered on Friday when an American collector bought Mahatma Gandhi's spectacles for Rs 55 lakh.

The most surprising thing is that this auction house has stated. The auction house said it had received Gandhiji's spectacles by post. The person who sent the glasses talked about the historical significance of the glasses, but did not say the price. Also wrote that if these glasses are not expensive then destroy them. The man said his father told him that Mahatma Gandhi had given these glasses to his uncle. Who worked in the British Petroleum in South Africa.

The online auction was held on August 21 under the title 'Mahatma Gandhi's Glasses'. This auction was especially popular because it was online. The Indian people also showed a lot of interest in the auction.
