The railways said the first such train would run between Devlali in Maharashtra and Danapur in Bihar. The Railway Ministry said in a statement that this year's budget announced the launch of Kishan Rail to establish a better chain of perishable agricultural products. So it is going to start its first Kisan rail service from 7th August at 11 am.

The Railways on Thursday said that the first such train would run between Devlali in Maharashtra and Danapur in Bihar. This will run on a weekly basis. It will cover a distance of 1519 km and reach Bihar from Maharashtra in 32 hours. The Central Railway Bhusawal Division is primarily an agriculture based division and produces vegetables, fruits, flowers and other agricultural products in and around Nashik. This is done to get it to another place before it goes bad.

It may be mentioned that the facility for transporting fruits and vegetables with this facility was first proposed by the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee in 2009-10. Which could not be started.
