Vinay Katiyar, an acid leader of the Ram Mandir movement, arrived in Ayodhya and told the media that he had come to participate in the Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan on August 5. Katiyar added that the monks and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh are losing credit for resolving the Ayodhya issue. He said that since Narendra Modi was not the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he has been at the forefront of the fight with us on this issue. Now that he is coming to Ayodhya for Bhumi Pujan as the Prime Minister, it is a matter of happiness for all of us. We are all very excited. He claimed that the BJP had not initiated the Ram Mandir movement, but had co-operated in the Sangh's struggle. The Sangh and the Sadhus started this fight. Katiyar also claimed that I was born in Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura. We even went to jail for protesting but it didn't change our mood.
