New Zealand's first case of corona virus after 102 days, announcement of strict lockdown again

Wellington, Tuesday 11 August 2020

The first case of the epidemic was reported locally in New Zealand after the corona virus had been infected for 102 days. Four members of the same family are said to be infected with the corona virus.

Strict lockdown has once again been imposed across the country following the case. Everyone who comes in contact with this family is left alone.

The whole world is now battling the Corona virus epidemic. In such a situation New Zealand has emerged as an example to the world.

The transition was completely controlled by the New Zealand government with a strict lockdown in late March. Only 100 people were infected with the virus at the time. On Sunday alone, 100 days had passed since not a single case of infection was reported locally.

Only a handful of people in New Zealand have been infected in the last three months. There are also people who are returning from abroad. They have been sent in isolation at the border.

"It's a miracle of good science and great political leadership," said Professor Michael Baker, an epidemiologist at the University of Otago.

If you look around the world, the countries that have succeeded in controlling the infection, there is usually a confluence of these two things.
