Landslide death toll rises to 43 in Kerala's Idukki

The death toll in the Idukki landslide in Kerala has risen to 43. The death toll rose as rescue teams found 17 more bodies on Sunday amid heavy rains. The meteorological department has issued red alerts for heavy rains in six districts of Kerala.

Heavy rains are also expected in Odisha for the next five days. While the flood situation in Bihar has worsened and more than 87,000 people were affected by the floods. With this, the total number of flood victims in Bihar has reached 74 lakh. New Delhi also received light showers.

Rains also brought down the temperature in Haryana and Punjab. The meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab, western parts of Uttar Pradesh and eastern parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The possibility of rains has also been expressed in Maharashtra.
