Iran hides death toll from Corona: report

A report claims that Iran has largely hidden the death toll from the corona virus. The death toll from the Corona death toll from Iran's health ministry is less than half of the actual number.

According to the report, only internal government documents show that 42,000 people had died from corona in Iran as of July 20, but the health ministry was only reporting 14,405 deaths.

At present, the government puts the number of infected people in Iran at 309,437 and the official death toll at 17,190, but the actual number of infected people was 451,024 as of July 20, the report said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made the shocking claim on July 18. He made a separate claim from his own government figures. Rouhani said 2.5 million people in Iran could be infected with the corona. The figure came as a result of an assessment by the health ministry, Rouhani's office said.
