Fighting against Chinese troops for 20 hours on the way to Ladakh: ITBP


In Jammu and Kashmir, four people, including three Army officers, fought valiantly.

Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel guarding India's borders against China encountered Chinese troops on the Line of Actual Control between May and June this year, not only in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh but also on other lines.

Not only that, in some places, Indian troops responded strongly to the Chinese aggression for 17 to 20 hours, the ITBP said on the eve of the 74th Independence Day. In Ladakh, 21 ITBP soldiers who fought bravely against Chinese troops will be honored with gallantry awards.

In addition, a total of 294 ITBP personnel facing the Chinese military were honored with Director General (DG) testimonials and insignia. In addition, ITBP's DG S. S. Deshwal and six other jawans were honored with DG testimonials and insignia for their campaign against the Naxals in Chhattisgarh.

President Ramnath Kovinde has approved the Gallantry Award for the deployment of three security personnel from the Army, including Shaurya Chakra, for counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Air Force Wing Commander Vishak Nair was also honored with the Heroic Chakra. Among the officers who received the Chakra of Heroism from the Army was the Lef of the Special Forces. Colonel Krishnasinh Rawat, Major Anil Urs and Havildar Alok Kumar Dubey.

The ITBP said the jawans fought valiantly against Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh and fought the Chinese troops all night. This time he held Chinese troops hostage for 17 to 20 hours and kept the country's borders safe. ITBP personnel have also made significant contributions in the fight against Corona.
