Data leak of 230 million users of Tiktok, Instagram and YouTube, theft of personal details

Data from about 235 million people on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube has been leaked. Personal details of all these people are available on Darknet. All three apps are owned by different companies. Tiktok is owned by a Chinese bytendance company, YouTube is owned by Google and Instagram is owned by Facebook. The data was leaked due to a relatively insecure database, according to security research firm Comparitech. The data that has been leaked includes 42 million Tiktok users, 4 million YouTube users and the rest Instagram users.

The data that is leaked contains the user's number, email, photo and all the details of the social media profile. This information is very useful for cyber fraud and phishing criminals. Following the report, the three companies shut down their insecure databases from which the data was leaked. It is worth mentioning that in this 21st century, data is becoming more and more valuable. All leaked data is available on DarkNet. Darknet or the Darkweb is the part of the Internet where we cannot be reached by a normal browser or search engine. According to research, only four percent of Darknet is available to the general public. Darknet is used for criminal activities such as human trafficking, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, fraud, etc.
