Jodhpur, Ta. Sunday, August 9, 2020

The bodies of 11 members of a Hindu family who migrated to India from Pakistan have been found in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The discovery of such a large number of bodies from the same family raises a number of questions. Although a family member is alive and an inquest is under way, the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

The Hindu family lived in the village of Lodta, 100 km from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, came from the Sindh province of Pakistan and is associated with the Bhil community. He migrated to India in 2015 on a long-term visa and farmed on leased land.

"The exact cause of death is not known but we are investigating," said Sruthanik SP (Rural) Rahul Barhat. Preliminary reports are claiming that the family may have taken poisonous drugs and that there were internal disputes within the family. They were poor and lived in slums.

They have been farming here for the last six months. A family member who was found alive is being questioned by police but no specific cause of death has been identified yet. The bodies have been sent for PM report.

No signs of injuries were found on anyone's body, although there was a strong smell of chemicals coming from the area where they lived, so it is suspected that they may have committed suicide with the toxic chemical. On the other hand, Jodhpur MP and Union Minister Gajendra Singh had leveled allegations against the Gehlot government of Rajasthan. The dead included two men, four women and five children.
