Corona's growing fury: Haryana govt's decision after Punjab, lockdown to be two days weekend

Outbreaks of corona virus are on the rise in the country and the world. Corona virus statistics in India are constantly setting new records. At a time when Corona is on the rise, various state governments are making decisions to curb it. Yesterday, the Punjab government announced a weekend lockdown to curb the rising Corona case. The government has also made such an announcement in the neighboring state of Haryana, which is now following Punjab. The Haryana government also announced on Friday that there would be lockdowns in the state on Saturday and Sunday.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said the decision was taken in view of the rising Korona virus outbreak in the state. He said a complete lockdown would be implemented on Saturdays and Sundays, leaving essential services. He tweeted that all shops would be closed on Saturdays and Sundays except for essentials. However, the movement of people will not be restricted. Only shops and offices will be banned during the lockdown. It may be mentioned that the number of corona cases in Haryana has crossed 50 thousand, while 578 people have lost their lives so far.

The Punjab government on Thursday also announced a night curfew with a weekend lockdown in the state. That means curfew will be enforced in 167 cities from 7 pm to 5 am. Apart from this, all ceremonies except weddings and mourning ceremonies have been banned till August 31.
