Chinook helicopters fly over LAC after Chinese military deployment

New Delhi, Sunday 9 August 2020

After a few days of peace on the Line of Actual Control in Leh Ladakh, the dispute between India and China has resumed. As soon as they saw the Chinese army on the border, the Indian troops stood on the front line. In the midst of all this, the Indian Air Force flew in a Chinook helicopter at 16,000 feet above Dolat Bagh Oldi at night.

DBO is the world's highest airstrip, originally built during the 1962 war. Chinese troops have begun building roads in the area.

Chinook capable of fighting even at night

According to information received, it was decided to fly Chinook helicopters over the DBO at night to test the Indian Army's special forces and ground capability. A senior commander said,

Apache helicopters are patrolling the Chushul area, while the American-made Chinook's night-fighting capabilities were tested. So this helicopter flew over the DBO.

We have already deployed T-90 tanks and artillery. Chinook has an honest record of flying at night in the mountainous areas of Afghanistan and is used by special air force rapid military retaliation.

Meanwhile, major general level talks were held between India and China on Saturday. During the talks, India called on China to withdraw its troops from the Depsang sector immediately. At the same time, India has asked China to stop construction in these areas. Both countries have deployed large numbers of troops here.

India has emphasized on ending border tensions in major general level talks. Depsang in particular has been asked to withdraw troops. Let me tell you, for some time now, the Chinese army has not even allowed India to patrol here.
