China's first corona vaccine patented, China begins vaccinating its soldiers

Beijing, Ta. 16 August 2020, Sunday

The whole world is now searching for a vaccine and a cure for the corona virus. As the epidemic unfolds, so is China. China's state-run newspaper Global Times reports that China's first corona vaccine has been patented. The corona vaccine is named Ad5-nCoV. The vaccine was developed by Chinese Army Major General Chen Wei and a company called CanSino Biologics Inc. China is testing a third-level trial of the vaccine in several countries around the world. The vaccine is expected to hit the market by the end of this year.

China's National Intellectual Property Administration has been informed of the patent. The patent was requested on March 18 and granted on August 11. Chinese experts claim that China is rapidly moving toward a safer and more effective vaccine. China will launch the vaccine by the end of the year.

China has said that the third level testing of this vaccine is very effective. If the results are positive, the vaccine will be marketed. Although the vaccine has not yet been approved, China has begun vaccinating its troops. The vaccine is being given to soldiers in small quantities with the help of the People's Liberation Army.

Chen Wei, chief of the Chinese military's medical sciences, played a key role in developing the vaccine. Chinese officials say they could easily overtake the United States in vaccine production.
